So the second weekend back up here at Ferris after winter break is about to get started. These past two weeks were the beginning of my second semester in college, and I can already tell this is going to be a way better semester than last year.
For starters, I can already tell that my professors are at least 20 times better than the professors I had last semester. Also, I learned from my mistakes of last semester, and I made a pact with myself that I am not going to slack as much as I did last time. I got a new agenda that goes by hour, so I'm going to make sure I write things down and actually check it so that I don't forget things as much.
I got up here two weeks ago Saturday, and was able to go out that night. It was really fun. Me and my friend Madison - who is soon to be my roommate - got a couple fifths and had a really good time. We hung out at a sorority house for a while with a bunch of really cool sorority girls and then went to Pike, which is the big frat on campus. After Pike, we went to "the barn" which is a house where a bunch of frat guys live. The party there was fun, and I even did a keg stand. It was kind of awesome.
Last weekend was a fun weekend too. On Friday we went to a party at the football house. Madison was pretty drunk, and wound up falling in a hole that was right by the front door. Now when I say hole, I'm not saying some like little hole that made her twist her ankle or something; this hole was about six feet deep and she fell straight onto her back. I felt really bad for laughing at her, but it was so damn funny I could't help myself.
Later on at the same party,we were downstairs and Madison had to go to the bathroom. She went to like knock on the door or something (I don't really know what she was trying to do), but she wound up falling into the door and breaking a hole in it. It was absolutely hilarious.
After laughing at her about it for a second, I realized that we should probably leave so that she wouldn't get bitched at for breaking the door. We left and went back to our dorm, and that was the end of that night.
Saturday morning I woke up and texted one of my guy friends that had gone out with us to make sure he was ok, because we had lost him at some point during the night and I hadn't heard from him. He texted me back telling me that he had passed out under a tree on the side of the road about a mile or so on the other side of town until about 4 am. I laughed out loud. He had made it home safe, so I thought it was the funniest story ever.
Saturday night it was extremely cold. I went out with my friend Tyler and some of his friends, and we had a pretty good time at a party at a house owned by one of the frats on campus. I was having a really good time just drinking, playing beer pong, and dancing. We spent the whole night at that house, and on the walk home it was a blizzard. We literally walked at least a half mile in a straight up white out. It was freezing, but it was probably one of the most fun things I've ever done. I'll admit, I was pretty drunk and I fell quite a few times, but it was still so much fun.
We didn't have school on Monday because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day which was pretty awesome because it meant I got a long weekend. In reality, I wound up just laying in bed all day Monday being lazy.
Classes are still going good. Last semester I had to drop my biology class because of the professor, but this semester I really like my new professor. He keeps lecture interesting, and he can actually speak understandable English.
I applied to be an RA for next year, but I got a call today telling me that I wasn't even going to get an interview because I didn't meet the minimum GPA requirements. I was kind of expecting that call because I knew I didn't have a high enough GPA, but it kind of sucks that they won't even let me interview and explain my circumstance.
I kind of made the bad decision last night that I wanted to drink even though I had class this morning at 9am. After a while we got bored of just sitting in our rooms, so we decided to go sledding. We started off right outside our hall on a small hill, but got bored of that pretty fast. We decided to walk out to the woods and see if we could find anything better. At this point it was like 3 in the morning, so I decided that I just wasn't going to sleep. We wound up only sledding down the hill we found once, and after that decided to go on a woods adventure. We walked around in the woods for seriously 2 or 3 hours. It was really fun.
After the woods, we came back to the dorms and watched workaholics until the McDonalds lobby opened, then we walked there and got breakfast. After that, we came back and just sat around for a while. Eventually everyone else went to bed, so I just sat and watched White Collar until it was time for class. Then I went to class, came back and took a nap, and now it's time to get ready for tonight. =)
